1. Possession (1981) | ★★★★★
- A married couple experience and extremely tumultuous turning point in their lives while trying to work through a divorce, custody issues, infidelity, career pressures, the political landscape of a divided Germany, and Satanic ritual. Recommended if you like Antichrist (2009), Marriage Story (2019), and Persona (1966).
2. 괴물 (The Host) (2006) | ★★★★★
- A teenage girl is abducted by a giant aquatic creature during a sudden attack along the Han River in Seoul and her dysfunctional family must work quickly to find her, figuring out not only how to bypass their personal failings, but also the bureaucratic and political obstacles they find in their way. Recommended if you like The Mist (2007) and シン・ゴジラ (Shin Godzilla) (2016).
3. Blow-Up (1966) | ★★★★★
- A London-based fashion photographer blows up some of his work from a park only to notice that a woman he’d captured was scared of someone she’d noticed by the trees, and that there appears to be a dead body on the ground. Recommended if you like Blow Out (1981), The Conversation (1974), and The Parallax View (1974).
4. Crash (1996) | ★★★★★
- After surviving a bad car accident, a Toronto-based film producer begins to experience sexual excitement at the sight and thought of car crashes, leading to him integrating with a small group of people who share his sexual interests. Recommended if you like La Pianiste (The Piano Teacher) (2001), Shame (2011), and Titane (2021).
